680 10U Team goes 4-1-1 at TPR Summer Championships!

This past weekend a collaboration of Brentwood, Pleasant Hill and San Ramon 10U players got together and competed in the Nations TPR Summer Championships.  The 680 Team went 3-0-1 in pool play winning the #1 seed.  The 680 Team and the SC Waves tied 6-6 during pool play.  As fate would have it, both teams faced off again during the championship with the 680 Team coming up a bit short in a 7-4 loss.  The players and coaches had a great time.  Way to go guys!

FAMOUS QUOTES

Baseball was made for kids, and grown-ups only screw it up.  ~Bob Lemon

Baseball is a fun game.  It beats working for a living.  ~Phil Linz

Back then, my idol was Bugs Bunny, because I saw a cartoon of him playing ball - you know, the one where he plays every position himself with nobody else on the field but him?  Now that I think of it, Bugs is still my idol.  You have to love a ballplayer like that.  ~Nomar Garciaparra

About Us

We are one of the largest Interlocking Pony Baseball affiliated leagues in the United States. We play baseball like the pros!  We travel, but most games are no more then 30 minutes away. We play very competitive baseball and occasionally enter other baseball travel tournaments outside of our own league. Our teams not only represent themselves well in these outside travel league tournaments, but many are among the best and have come home with numerous championships!

  Look Who's Made a Difference...

San Ramon PONY Baseball has evolved into a Tri-Valley attraction for top baseball talent looking for a challenging, rewarding experience. Top tier players from other programs see us as a developmental step towards playing high school ball. We think our “It’s all about the kids” approach coupled with capable, caring and committed coaching is what makes us special.

Tom Cortez is one example of someone who has totally committed himself to our program. Tom has two children, both of whom play Pony baseball.  Tom has served as a coach for several years, and recently added Manager to his resume. In addition, he serves as Mustang Division Director, sits on our Board of Directors, and most recently, has been instrumental in organizing and expanding the 680 League. In that capacity, he serves as a League Rep, planning, organizing and supervising the operation of division play, but perhaps most impressive is he built all three schedules (Pony, Bronco, and Mustang) for the current season while also managing the 680 League website. Countless hours and numerous revisions were all handled by Tom in an effort to construct a league schedule.

Tom is tireless in his effort to enhance the baseball experience of players, parents and his coaching colleagues. As a youth sports volunteer, there is nothing more one could ask of Tom. He models the way for all of us, and continually demonstrates that it truly is all about the kids.
